Your stay will be in an architecturally designed villa made of local sandstone. Every room in these stunning villas has endless views of the Sea. They are all stylishly decorated and spacious. Each Villa has luxurious rooms with Jacuzzi baths or walk-in showers. Enjoy fully equipped kitchens (stocked daily with water, juice and fruit), a private pool, with large decks, sun loungers and umbrellas as well as outdoor showers. There is WiFi available in all the villas and they are all air-conditioned.

The Yoga Shala is a dedicated all-weather space that is fully equipped and has tranquil views across the Ionian Sea. It really is a breath-taking place to practice in and one that words cannot do justice too. Adjoining the Shala is a large outdoor Jacuzzi that can be heated, the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of exploring, swimming at the private beach or relaxing by the pool - It is also the perfect spot for a bit of star-gazing.

All meals - delicious authentic home-cooked gourmet vegetarian and vegan food cooked by our on-site host Ourania.

Your 7 night stay will include: 10 x 2 hr Yoga classes with Karen

(each class includes asana, pranayama and meditation)

4 x 3 hour cooking classes/workshops on Mediterranean cooking with Ourania

A 60 minute massage with Karen

A guided hike to a local private beach

A walk with local herbalist, seminar and opportunity to make your

own tincture to take home.

About Ourania:
Dr. Ourania Sideri (economist), having left a profitable career in the area of civil administration for her love of hospitality, cooking and the organization of yoga retreats, she has discovered the joy that her visitors derive from good cooking, prepared according to the Mediterranean diet and Greek tradition! Many friends who have visited her and have experienced her cuisine, have asked with great enthusiasm and interest to learn about the small common secrets of the Mediterranean diet and cooking that do not involve difficult techniques, but
give them daily joy and contentment and mainly correct or introduce nutritional and preparational practices. By adding love, care, inspiration and patience to fresh, quality ingredients in cooking, it  automatically leads to a most satisfying culinary experience. That is exactly what Ourania would like to share with you, so that you can learn to cook healthy meals in the shortest time possible without a recipe book, savoring the delicious dishes that the efforts produce.
It is not difficult, but requires concentration, care and a supreme offer of love to our families and friends, but also to ourselves. This makes all the difference in the end result. But let us leave these small secret details to be discovered in the course of our cooking lessons!

Schedule:
The schedule for the retreat will typically involve:

4 days a week:

An energising flow based yoga practice to ground, enliven and awaken mind, body and soul, followed by pranayama and meditation to fully integrate the practice to our body and mind.

A light and tasty breakfast will be served which will then be followed by a cooking class/workshop with your host Ourania after which you will enjoy the efforts of your morning over a leisurely lunch.

Then your time is your own to rest, digest and soak in the morning rays, or go for a morning swim or hike, or maybe take a  massage treatment to help you unwind and relax.

A slow flow into a more restorative based yoga practice to relax and rejuvinate our tired bodies and minds, followed by a yoga nidra to fully restore and relax.

We will then all come together for a lovely 3-course evening meal in our unique dining area.

The week also includes a walk in the valley with the wonderful Aris who will astound you will all his knowledge of the local herb and wildlife, he will then bring us back to the Villas where we will learn how to use the herbs in more detail and make a special tincture to take home. On this day we will be served a light breakfast and return to the Villas to be served a tasty brunch. After the seminar has finished there will be time to relax and rest before we will all come together for our evening yoga practice and dinner.

 

One of the days we will take a group excursion by boat to explore the local beaches and snorkeling sites stopping at local picturesque fishing villages en-route for coffee and the opportunity to shop if you wish. Before our trip we will take a light breakfast and then take a packed lunch with us to have at our leisure whilst we are exploring the local beaches. The afternoon will be yours to rest at your villa or to stay in the local village and explore at your leisure before we meet again for our evening practice and our evening meal.

If this sounds like too much don't worry you can do as many or as few sessions as you like.


Also available locally, at an extra cost, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Cycling, Boat trips, snorkeling and kayaking, all of which we would be very happy to arrange for you on site.

About Carly:
Carly Day is an experienced pilates teacher, yoga teacher and massage therapist. With a twinkle of eccentricity, an air of inner calm, and what some might describe as, refreshing and open-minded views on the ways that we live our lives, she will get you right as rain in no time!

Carly has a lifelong devotion and committed intention to share her knowledge of the human form to inspire others to take care of themselves and the community we live in. Carly want’s people to realise the wonder of their bodies, their minds and their innate ability to deepen their insight.

Having had the fortune to work with some amazing practitioners, gaining experience and functional knowledge of anatomy, physiology, postural and biomechanical assessment, biodynamic and sustainable nutrition, remedial bodywork and myofacial release, prophylactic taping, electrotherapy and exercise prescription. She focuses on the prevention and rehabilitation of the body and the mind, Carly is very well placed to help you to better understand your body.

A fulfilling and tasty brunch will then be served and then your time is your own to rest, digest and soak in the morning rays, or go for a morning swim or hike, or maybe take a  massage treatment to help you unwind and relax.

Afternoons through to early evenings will include your pilates class to help to realign and stabilise and a slow flow or restorative yoga class followed by yoga nidra to help you unwind fully.

We will then all come together for a lovely 3-course evening meal in our unique dining area.


The week also includes a walk in the valley with the wonderful Aris who will astound you will all his knowledge of the local herb and wildlife, he will then bring us back to the Villas where we will learn how to use the herbs in more detail and make a special tincture to take home.

 

One of the days we will have a rest day and take a group excursion either by boat or jeep - depending on the weather conditions.

If this sounds like too much…no problem, you can do as many or as few sessions as you like. Maybe it’s not enough…we’ll be on hand for additional 1-2-1 sessions to help you get the most out of your practice.

If you are visiting this beautiful Island and wish to create your own private retreat then please contact Karen to discuss this further.

 

The packages can be either focused on specific areas of your practice helping to deepen, support and advance your practice - like having a week of one to ones. Or they can be structured to a specific need i.e. to aid detoxification & cleansing, to support general health and well being, to manage stress and anxiety, to support the body and mind post injury or illness, to help ease women’s health issues or a combination of all of these.

Packages are completely tailor made to you or your group and can be either yoga only or can combine yoga and massage.
